In today’s financial ecosystems, there is a need for identity and fraud management solutions that enable companies to protect their customers.
The 10° Latin American Congress IA, Technology and Business Digital America 2025 will feature the participation of prominent leaders and experts in technology and business from across the region. Among them, Rafael Estrada, Principal of Identity and Fraud Management Solutions for TransUnion Latin America, who will present the conference entitled “How collaboration within ecosystems in the financial sector strengthens digital trust”.
Rafael has over 17 years of experience in business development and technology solutions in various industries. His passion for driving the adoption of digital technologies in Latin America has led him to support the digital transformation of multiple entities, focusing on SaaS solutions, Artificial Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation and Identity Management for fraud mitigation.
With an engineering degree from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and an MBA from Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Rafael currently contributes in TransUnion to strengthen trust between entities and consumers, through his work optimizing interactions in digital and face-to-face channels, seeking to facilitate identity management and fraud mitigation and ensuring that each consumer is represented in a comprehensive, reliable and secure way in the market. It has successful experiences in various sectors in Chile and Colombia, deepening the authentication processes with biometrics in the financial sector and validation of digital identity in real time in the telecommunications sector and the direct sales sector.
In his presentation, Rafael will address success stories from financial ecosystems in various countries, demonstrating how effective collaboration can strengthen the digital trust that enables consumers and financial institutions to conduct secure and truthful transactions in digital channels in a balancing act between consumer experience and fraud protection.
In the latest update of TransUnion’s Omnichannel Fraud Report 2024 nearly half (49%) of consumers residing in 18 global markets reported being targeted by email, online, phone call or text message fraud scams, and 9% saying they had been victimized between January and May 2024.
The same report noted that the rate of suspicious digital fraud attempts stood at 5,2% in the first half of 2024; where risk by transaction type during the customer journey was concentrated in account creation and account login.
The conference will offer valuable insights on best practices and strategies in a multifaceted approach that has allowed these ecosystems to thrive in an increasingly complex and challenging digital environment, with consumers expecting seamless and secure transactions that are eroded over time due to fraudsters who are specializing their fraud schemes with artificial intelligence tools.
Rafael Estrada’s participation in the congress underlines the relevance of digital trust during consumer journeys in digital channels in the financial sector and how collaboration between different actors can strengthen it. His conference is a must-attend event for all those interested in digital transformation and security in the financial sphere.
