ChileCompra is the institution that administers the Public Procurement System in Chile, ChileCompra (www.chilecompra.cl), which runs in a single regulatory framework based on transparency, efficiency, universality, accessibility and non-discrimination.

ChileCompra manages the procurement platform of State, www.mercadopublico.cl, -the largest e-commerce platform in the country- through which about 900 state agencies perform autonomously their purchases and contracts and actively involved over 100 000 companies. Through this public platform, over 9,000 million dollars are annually traded – about 3% of Chile GDP- in the acquisition of products and services that enable the proper functioning of state agencies, management that directly benefits the citizens. These purchases includes everything from office supplies, drugs to transport services or consulting.

The public procurement market offers thousands business opportunities for companies of all sizes, especially micro and small who actually double their share in this market compared to the national economy, adjudging 40% of the volumes traded. 2 out of 3 companies offering business are awarded and they are micro and small enterprises, and 90% of the winners are micro and small enterprises.
